JAIME M. SHAMONKI, MD
Jaime Shamonki is Medical Director of California Cryobank. Prior to joining California Cryobank, Dr. Shamonki spent seven years as Section Head of Breast Pathology and Medical Director of the Blood Bank at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California.
Dr. Shamonki was educated at top medical institutions including The University of Vermont, New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College and UCLA. An Assistant Professor at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, she contributes to ongoing research studies in the fields of oncology and immunology.
Richard D. Jennings
With an MBA from Harvard Business School and Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Richard Jennings brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the biomedical and healthcare fields to the Stem Cell Services/FamilyCord team. Prior to joining FamilyCord, Richard served as CEO of Mediscan, one of the premiere health care staffing firms in the U.S. His extensive experience also includes: fundraising for the American Heart Association in Los Angeles; CFO of the Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce; Associate Administrator of the Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center; and a series of positions with increasing responsibilities within Child Care and Infant Care Sectors of Kimberly Clark Corporation. FamilyCord is excited to have Richard on board as President.
Vice President of Operations
Over the past 13 years, Kaj Rydman has been an integral part of California Cryobankâ€™s success as Chief Financial Officer and then as President of FamilyCord. With an extensive professional career spanning from international marketing to entrepreneurship in Europe and United States, Kaj’s contributions have been critical in leading our cord blood division from infancy to rapid growth and expansion, nationally and internationally. As Vice President of Operations of the company’s two functional divisions: reproductive tissue services and cord blood banking, Kaj oversees all laboratories and storage operations. Kaj is an alumnus of the Helsinki School of Business and Economics (Finland).
Michael Lill, M.D.
A graduate of the University of Western Australia, Dr. Lill has had an impressive medical career in the field of stem cell and bone marrow transplantation and currently holds an important position in that field in Los Angeles. Previously, Dr. Lill was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles, California, where he held the position of Director of the Bone Marrow and Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Processing Laboratory. Dr. Lill is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Blood Banks, the Australian Medical Association and the International Society of Hematotherapy and Graft Engineering. Dr. Lill has published extensively and is a sought-after guest lecturer.
